Abstract

The trends and developments in mixing technology are considered. Many companies demand a total mixing solution. Mixing companies need to consider the whole process and integrate the mixing technology within it. Most savings are achieved through better mixing efficiency which is down to design with consideration of the physical properties of the substances to be mixed; impeller design, and the dimensions of the mixing vessel. In order to ensure a system is going to meet customer needs, it is necessary to test it using a pilot plant. Computer modelling and simulation has allowed the development of more complex equipment design.
