Abstract

The article focuses on the importance of social cataloguing, which refers to Web-based applications that allow tracking and tagging of books by users in an online inventory or personal filing system, in enhancing the services of health librarians. It cites several social cataloguing sites (SCSs) including LibraryThing, Shelfari and SlideShare. It discusses the attributes and features of SCSs for health librarians interested in using social cataloguing in their libraries.
