Abstract
Patterns for raising and selecting local sheep by breeders in Indonesia contribute various breed types and color patterns. Breed types that developed well in West Java are Garut Sheep, Priangan Sheep, Thin Tail Sheep and Fat Tail Sheep. This research was conducted to determine the distribution of female local sheep color patterns and breed types in several livestock markets in Region III Cirebon (Ciayumajakuning). This research used descriptive method. data collection used the sensus method. The research parameters were breed types and the color patterns of female local sheep in several livestock market at Region III Cirebon. the results showed the distribution of local sheep in the eleventh livestock market in Region III Cirebon were Garut Sheep as many as 691 heads (51,72%), Priangan Sheep 439 heads (32,86%), Fat Tailed Sheep 107 heads (8,01 %), Thin Tail Sheep 84 sheeps (6,29%) and another 15 sheeps (1,12%). The color pattern of sheep’s skin was dominated by white as much as 981 heads (73,43%), black 178 heads (13,32%), a combination of 118 heads (8,83%) and brown 59 heads (4,42%) of the total population was 1336 heads.
