The objective was to test the psychometric characteristics of the Examination Anxiety Questionnaire (CAEX) in Colombian university students. A total of 507 students from three undergraduate programs of a Colombian public university participated in the study. They responded to the CAEX, which measures test anxiety behaviors, consisting of 50 items on a six anchors Likert-type scale. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed by structural equation modeling. A model of test anxiety was constructed, made up of four first-order latent variables, as theoretically expected. The model has adequate practical goodness-of-fit indices. Students exhibit a similar test anxiety profile. It is concluded that the CAEX has reliability and validity for use with students similar to those in the sample.
