Abstract
The article discusses the challenges of archiving digital resources in library collections amidst the growth of electronic journals and books in library acquisitions, and offers some solutions. The author comments on the strategy developed by Stanford University called Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS), a backup system for digital content that opens access under trigger conditions such as the publisher going out of business or a large technical failure. Topics include the use of servers to provide archival storage and the collaboration between publishers and libraries over digital content software.
