Abstract

Thecapabilitiesofgoldenpothosandpeacelilyfbrair-pollutantswereexamined・Intheexperiment,these subjectswereinstalledinanexperimentalchamberof3001itersrespectivelyandthepurificationcharacteristics weremonitoredbyatinoxidegassensor.Therespondingcharacteristicofthesensormeansaplantpurification capability(B).AndthefUll-widthatahalfmaximum(rw)ofthecharacteristicwasusedtoevaluatetheBr. TheP・sofgoldenpothosandpeacelilyfOrtolueneandxylenewerenearlyconstanteveniftheconcentrations werechanged・ThecapabilitiesofgoldenpothosandpeacelilyfbrfOmaldehydebecamehigherasthe concentrationbecamehigher・Relationshipbetweentherwandmolecularweightofthepollutantsshowedalinear characteristic.Itwasunderstoodthatthepurificationcapabilitybecamelowerasthemolecularweightofthe pollutantwaslarger. Plantswerealsosetinarealenvironment.TotalVolatileOIganicCompounds(TVOC)andodorgradeswere measuredtoexaminepurificationeffectofplants.RemovalratefOrTVOCwas74%andthatofodorwas68%. ItwasconfirmedthatplantshadhighpurificationcapabilityfOrbothofVOCsandodoreveninthereal environment.
