Abstract
There are two objectives of this study. Firstly, this study aims to contribute to educational science, focusing on managing Pasraman as an educational institution. A quality non-formal Pasraman management strategy will help maintain harmony and diversity among Pasraman students. Pasraman is a Hindu religious education institution that teaches Hindu-based concepts and subject matter, especially related to philosophy, ethical teachings, and sacred rituals. The existence of Pasraman greatly supports the educational process in Indonesia, but it still needs attention and support from both the community and the Government. This research focuses on a qualitative-based approach to explore the role and strategy of Pasraman institutions in supporting the strengthening of religious moderation to build tolerance in the lives of the Indonesian people amid the threat of radicalism. Several important findings were found in this study. This aligns with Golden Indonesia’s vision, which emphasizes the importance of building a harmonious and inclusive society. Secondly, this study provides concrete input on educating brahmacaris in Pasraman and effective strategies for managing Pasraman as a driving force for religious moderation. By implementing a good management strategy, Pasraman can become an efficient and effective institution in spreading the values of religious moderation, which is one important aspect of achieving the vision of Golden Indonesia.
