Abstract

Steam-injection tests in field have shown that heat transport into oil/water region, ahead of steam zone, may have significant effect on production process; theory is presented which takes under consideration critical time (onset of convective heat transfer into liquid zone) that depends on reservoir thickness, temperature and quality of steam; on basis of equation boundary conditions for heat and mass flow inside oil/water region are established, and simple method of determining saturation at downstream side of condensation front is presented.
