A educação infantil em Timor-Leste: um olhar necessário para a base

Abstract

This article aims to investigate early childhood education in East Timor in its different historical periods, considering that Timor is a relatively young country and there is a gap in the construction of knowledge and academic production in research on the history of education in general, and especially child education. We consider the hypothesis that looking back at history is a way to understand and more assertively face the challenges of building knowledge in the field of education in Timor and its incessant struggle to overcome social dominance and exclusion. The methodology used in this work is qualitative, following the paths of history and bibliographic research. The references were diverse to cover the different periods and administrations experienced by the nation.
