Abstract
The population of persons with human immunodeficiency virus (HiV) infection (hereafter, “persons with HiV” [PWH]) is aging, owing to increased longevity due to successful antiretroviral therapy (ART) combined with an increased number of new infections among individuals aged >50 years [1]. Because this is the first generation of PWH to undergo substantial aging, data are lacking about the natural history of HiV in older PWH with virological suppression, leaving much to be learned [2, 3].
