Planning

Abstract

In organizations and public policy, the organizational process of creating and maintaining a plan and the psychological process of thinking about the activities required to generate a desired goal on some scale. This also includes the process of setting goals, developing strategies, and outlining tasks and schedules to accomplish these goals. “Planning” is also applied to explain the formal procedures used in such an endeavor, such as the creation of documents, diagrams to discuss problems to be addressed, the issues to be met, and the tactic to be followed. Beyond this, the term planning has a different meaning based on the context in which it is used.
