Abstract
Growth and development of Silphium integrifolium during the first 3 years of cultivation were characterised. Observations focused on plant morphology, green biomass production, and dry matter content. Studies revealed that S. integrifolium is easy to cultivate and the biomass could be up to 17.8t ha–1 dry weight on average. Therefore, it could potentially be utilised for various purposes. © 2004 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
