Abstract

Advances in information technology and cheaper, more powerful microchips are going to change the ways we market, advertise and retail our products. With product bar-coding and electronic scanning at check-outs companies will have the opportunity to be much better informed about every aspect of their sales patterns, and the result should be more accuracy and less waste in our marketing methods and longer-term development of an electronic channel of shopping.
