Abstract

A review. Main purpose of this chapter is to show some concrete designs of plasmonic structures exhibiting collective oscillations of plasmons and broad-band plasmonic states, based on realistic and precise computations. Computational methods suitable to compute linear optical spectra are described. One-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) plasmonic structures based on the numerical results are examd. Light absorption management and polarization manipulators of subwavelength thickness are examd. Periodic metallic nanorod arrays have been investigated based on the numerical methods.
