Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in shaping the creative and innovative character of sixth-grade students at SDIT Ar-Rohmah Gentong in the 2023/2024 academic year. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The primary sources of data were IRE teachers and sixth-grade students. The findings reveal that IRE teachers play a significant role as motivators, facilitators, and role models in developing students' creativity and innovation. Their role is implemented through character-based religious learning that integrates Islamic values and daily practices. It was found that teachers who embody strong moral character are more effective in fostering creative and innovative behaviors in students. The study concludes that the teacher's moral integrity and teaching strategies have a profound impact on shaping students’ character.
