Abstract

ABSTRAK This study aims to describe the literacy culture of autistic children in exceptional primary schools (SDLB). Literacy culture in SLB adjusts the conditions and conditions of children. In SDLB, there are various categories of children who have special abilities, one of whom is an autistic child. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation and interview. Data sources were obtained from autistic children and third-grade teachers of SDLB Talitakum Semarang. The results showed that reading literation culture in third-grade autistic children was carried out with several activities, namely: (1) listening to stories, stories, or texts, (2) reading with the teacher's guide, and (3) reading as they pleased.
