Abstract

Hypertension is one of the main risks of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and kidney disease. One effort to prevent complications of hypertension is taking antihypertensive drugs. The proportion of taking antihypertensive medication, it was found that 53.74% of the population consumed medication regularly, 32.27% consumed medication irregularly, and 13.33% did not consume antihypertensive medication. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the level of compliance with antihypertensive drug consumption and blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the Ngaglik I Community Health Center. This research is quantitative research with an analytical correlation observation research design using a cross-sectional with 50responden as a sample approach. From the research results, it was found that 74% respondents had high compliance, and 8% had low compliance. Apart from that, this study showed that 46% respondents had isolated systolic hypertension. With Spearman's statistical correlation analysis, the results showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Where there is a significant relationship between the level of compliance with antihypertensive drug consumption and blood pressure with a weak relationship strength and negative direction. This is proven by the p-value <0.05, namely 0.13 for systolic blood pressure and 0.009 for diastolic blood pressure.
