Abstract

The article discusses current understanding of paranasal sinuses chronic inflammation in children (chronic rhinosinusitis-CRS) in context of European position paper on rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps (2012). It provides information about CRS bacterial pathogens structure and trigger factors and modern treatment guidelines, in particular about topical antimicrobials on the example of fusafungine (Bioparox) in children older than 12 years with CRS.
