Two sub-families are recognized in the family Pseudothelphusidae; the new subfami-ly Epilobocerinae for Epilobocera, and Pseudothelphusinae for the remaining four genera. Epilobocera fuhrmanni is a Pseudothelphttsa. New subgenera proposed tor Pseudothelphusa are: Ach-lidon, for P. agrestis; Allacanthus, for P. pittieri; Megathelphusa, for P. mag-na and P. richmondi; Ptychophallus, for P. tristani, P. montana, P. tumi-manus, P. exilipes, and P. xantusi. P. convexa is relegated to the synonymy of P. montana.
