Trânsitos, afirmações e negações sobre a identidade japonesa no Brasil

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir e contestar algumas questões relacionadas aos construtos de identidade e cultura em meio aos processos da imigração japonesa no Brasil, mais especificamente, no sul do país. Buscamos avaliar os efeitos de algumas medidas políticas para o desenvolvimento de estereótipos acerca de japoneses, especialmente considerando as tentativas de repressão e silenciamento perceptíveis em algumas dessas políticas. Interessa-nos, nessa perspectiva, observar as representações e discursos construídos na época do fluxo migratório japonês no Brasil em torno da figura/imagem do "estereótipo do japonês". Com isso, pretendemos, também, ponderar sobre como os movimentos de trânsitos, mobilidades e deslocamentos dos imigrantes podem ser refletidos nas suas representações identitárias, revelados simbolicamente por meio da linguagem, em construções discursivas.The focus of this article is to address and argue about some issues related to the constructs of identity and culture in the Japanese immigration process in Brazil, mainly in the Southern parts of the country. We examined the effects of political measures for the development of Japanese stereotypes, especially considering some attempts of repression and the perceptible silencing in some of these policies. In this perspective, this paper also presents analysis of the representations and discourses built during the Japanese migration flow to Brazil regarding the character/image of the "Japanese stereotype". Therefore, it is also intended to present how the immigratory transit movements, mobilities and displacements can be reflected in their identity representations, symbolic revealed through language, in discursive constructions.
