Abstract

In single pollen grains, the polar axis should be defined in relation to the actual geometry of the surface of the monads. The ontogenetic definition, referring to the position in the tetrad, is inapplicable in practicc, and can lead to confusion. © 1978 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
