Abstract
This study investigated the impact of public engagement initiatives and community-based programmes on the empowerment of artists and designers in Saudi Arabia’s art and design field. Specifically, it examined how these initiatives contribute to the professional advancement, creative development, and visibility of early-career artists and designers, focusing on the knowledge, networks, and expertise offered through initiatives such as workshops, residencies, forums, and exhibitions. The effectiveness of these initiatives and programmes was measured using the quantitative analysis survey method. The findings emphasise the significance of community participation and public engagement for artists and designers, given the rapid evolution of the art and design fields due to changing market trends, technological advancements, and societal changes. This research provides insights into the benefits of public engagement initiatives and programmes, which can be used as a basis to develop future initiatives aligned with upcoming global changes.
