Abstract

In this ‘Introduction: One Hundred Years of the Bulletin of Spanish Studies (Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, 1949–2001) 1923–2023’, Sarah Wright and Lesley Wylie look back from the perspective of 2023 on some of the earliest volumes of the Bulletin, including the desire to promote the language and literature of Spain, and the literature and culture of Latin America, as subjects worthy of study in the UK and North America. They also provide a summary of the articles that comprise the Special Issue curated to celebrate the centenary of the Bulletin.
