Abstract

In this paper, an echo model based on the time-domain shooting and bouncing ray (TDSBR) is proposed to generate simulated radar echoes of maritime electrically large targets. The model uses the TDSBR method to calculate the composite scattering from the target and the sea surface in time domain directly, and combines with the 'stop-go' method to deal with the motion of the radar and target. The simulation results show that the proposed model features good accuracy and high efficiency, which has important application in echo prediction and target detection of the missile-borne radar in the maritime environment.
