A description is given of a specific simulation technique for generating weatherlike Doppler spectra and signals which may be useful to radar meteorologists. The algorithm considered is direct and versatile since it creates spectra of any desired shape. The in-phase and quadrature time series components can be used for studies of receivers' nonlinearities on the spectral shape.
