Taxonomic Studies on the Genus Trissolcus Ashmead of Japan and Korea (Hymenoptera, Scelionidae)

Abstract

The authors revise the members of the genus /i Trissolcus /now known to occur in Japan and/or Korea; they recognise 10 species and give a key for their separation. The 2 new species described include /i T. itoi /sp. n., which is described by the first author from the adults of both sexes; it was reared from /i Homalogonia obtusa /and /i Elasmucha putoni /in Japan, and has also been collected in Korea. /i T. flavipes, T. delucchii /and /i T. gonopsidis /are recorded for the first time from Japan, and /i T. flavipes /and /i T. nigripedius /is recorded for the first time from Korea. The other species of /i Trissolcus /dealt with are /i T. mitsukurii, T. tumidus, T. japonicus /and /i T. elasmuchae /(all from Japan). Many of the hosts of these scelionids are important crop pests.
