Abstract

The aim of this project is to perform an analysis about Herodotus passage (Hdt. IV. 23-28, 1) with the purpose of specifying the methodology used by the Greek author, the phases of the narrative construction and the historical and ethnographic value of the fragment. To achieve this purpose, this article is structured as follows: a short historiographical introduction of Herodotus, a stratificated and detailed analysis about the chosen fragment and, to end with, brief conclusions.
