Abstract

A new species of fossil odontocete is described from the Lower Oligocene limestone of the Waitaki Valley near Duntroon, in Otago, New Zealand. It has been identified as a squalodont belonging to the genus Prosqualodon, of which three precious species have been described, one each from Tasmania, New Zealand, and South America. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
