Abstract

The Correlation Between Coffe Consumption And Eating Patterns With Dyspepsia Syndrome In The Internal Medicine OutPatient Departement of RSUD Meuraxa. Dyspepsia syndrome is a collection of symptoms consisting of discomfort in the upper abdomen, bloating, nausea, vomiting, belching, feeling full quickly and stomach feeling full. Factors that cause dyspepsia include consuming caffeine and diet. Caffeine is most commonly found in beverage products such as coffee. This study aims to determine the influence of coffee consumption habits and eating patterns on the incidence of dyspepsia in the internal medicine polyclinic at Meuraxa Hospital. This type of research is observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 110 people using the total sampling technique. The instrument used is primary data through filling out a questionnaire. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the highest of respondents based on age was in the late adult category (36-45 years) 62 (56.4%) respondents, based on gender the most were women 75 (68.2%). The results of the study showed that 68 (61.8%) people had positive dyspepsia due to coffee consumption. The results of the Chi-Square test obtained a p-value (0.041) and 68 respondents had a habit of eating regularly with a p-value (0.000). This study concludes that there is a relationship between the intensity of coffee consumption and regular eating habits with the incidence of dyspepsia.
