Abstract

The article offers news briefs related to liquid crystal display (LCD) industries in the world. Japan-based liquid display manufacturer Sharp Corp. has announced that they recorded an expected loss of US$1.3 billion for the August 2009 period. Toshiba has been manufacturing LCDs for use in products such as mobile phone and satellite navigation systems. Nikon Corp. has announced the development of its UP300 head mounted display for use in everyday applications such as portable media players.
