Abstract
Introduction: Burnout occurs in students, and it is called learning burnout. A decrease in academic achievement causes this, as well as unwillingness to complete tasks, unpleasant facial expressions, lack of class participation, and decreased motivation. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between religious coping and extracurricular activities with learning burnout in high school students. Methods: quantitative research with a cross-sectional method. The sample was 350, and data was collected using the Psychological Measurement of Religious Islam (PMIR) questionnaire, extracurricular activities questionnaire, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-student Survey (MBI-SS) questionnaire. Data analysis used the Spearman rank test with a p-value of 0.05. Results: The results of the Spearman rank test of the relationship between religious coping and learning burnout in students obtained a p-value of 0.001, that there is a powerful relationship as evidenced by the coefficient value of -0.207. Meanwhile, the relationship between extracurricular activities and learning burnout in students showed a significant relationship, as evidenced by the p-value of 0.001, which is smaller than the p-value <0.05, meaning there is a powerful relationship with a coefficient of -0.172. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between religious coping, extracurricular activities, and learning burnout in high school students. The higher the level of religious coping and participation in extracurricular activities, the lower the level of learning burnout experienced by students. This finding demonstrates the importance of developing religious coping strategies and increasing extracurricular participation to mitigate student learning burnout.
