Abstract

Way to study human skin, begins with determining the phototype of it. However, this concept may mask a series of embedded features, which now can be determined through noninvasive optical techniques such as diffuse reflectance spectrophotometry. Although the phototype is determined by many factors, melanin it is distributed throughout the epidermis is the main absorbent, largely determines the color of the skin. Thus, it would be interesting to know the amount and distribution of melanin. With this study, is to adjust the spectral data trigonometric series to find a direct dependence between the independent term of the expansion of the Fourier series and the absorption coefficient of the epidermis.
