Temperature preference in piglets weaned at 12-14 days of age

Abstract

Five replicates of 48 pigs each, weaned at 12-14 d of age, were observed. Mean preferred temperature was found to decrease during the night and early morning, and increase during the day. Average preferred temperatures were 26.3°C, 25.7°C, and 25.3°C for 3, 4, and 5 wk of age, respectively.
