DESAIN KONTRUKSI KAPAL RISET POLBENG BERBAHAN DASAR PLASTIK HDPE

Abstract

The Polbeng Research Vessel is a ship owned by the Department of Naval Architecture at the Bengkalis State Polytechnic. This vessel is designed using High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic material. As this is a new material in shipbuilding, further calculations and construction designs are needed in the development of the ship. The construction calculation method used refers to the regulations of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI). The calculation results show that the hull thickness is 10 mm, and all hull construction also uses 10 mm thick plates. The longitudinal strength of the vessel is designed with two side girders located at the bottom of the ship, and it is not equipped with a center girder.
