Abstract
Anthropometric and demographic data were complied from four participating laboratories on subjects used in WG11’s round-robin testing. Age and sex distributions were compared to sizing distributions of the single-flange (V-51R) and EP-100 earplugs. Earplug size was generally found to increase with age, while females were found to be skewed toward the smaller sizes and males toward the larger sizes. Measurements of ear length, ear breadth, pinna protusion, and head height were compared to military standards for anthropometric data.
