Abstract

The synthesis, processing and mechanical properties of the lightweight metals, aluminum, magnesium and titanium produced by powder metallurgy approaches are reviewed. Synthesis techniques to be addressed will include rapid solidification, spray deposition, mechanical alloying, plasma processing and vapor deposition.
