Abstract

This study includes an analysis of the synthesis intermediates of antiretrovirals used to treat AIDS, using technological foresight in patent document with detailed route for synthesis. In this study were selected 19 antiretrovirals used in Brazil, a country with international prestige in this area, as result of the policy of universal access to treatment in public health. The prospect of patents revealed the involvement of the 128 relevant documents and 13 molecules were considered key in the synthesis. The result showed the existence of common molecules between same ARV class and as different classes.
