Abstract
The article focuses on the benefits of the capability approach in addressing the issue of disability, music making and identity to develop a theoretical framework in the evaluation of the Drake Music Project. It explores the role of music in identity formation and the interaction among dis/ability, music and identity. The authors note that the capability approach provided them the ontological freedom to focus on the musicianship of disabled without undermining their identities.
