Abstract

Modified epoxy resin/modified nano-SiO2 composite was prepared employing urethane acrylate to modify epoxy resin E-44 and silane coupling agent for the modification of SiO2 nanoparticles. The obtained materials were characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), mechanical strength test and hardness test. The composite displayed a significantly increased mechanical properties and great application prospects in dental materials.
