Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted to humans through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Data from the Indonesian Pediatrician Association shows that children under the age of 15 are the most susceptible to infection. Examination of dengue IgG, IgM in the laboratory is used as a diagnosis of dengue. On examination the number of neutrophils also influences the condition of DHF patients. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between dengue IgG and IgM examinations and neutrophils in DHF patients. This research method uses cross sectional. The sampling technique was by Quota Sampling and 30 samples were obtained. The Odd Ratio (OR) value is 11 (2 – 60) where the lower limit is 2 and the upper limit is 60. The meaning of this Odd Ratio value is that the chances of positive IgG and IgM have 11 times the chance compared to IgG and negative IgM for abnormal neutrophil counts <34%, with a lower chance = 2 and an upper chance = 60. From this Odd Ratio value it can be concluded that Dengue Blood IgG (+) and IgM (+) have 11 times more chance than Dengue Blood IgG (-) and IgM (+) to the percentage of neutrophils < 34%. From the research, it was found that there was a relationship between dengue IgG and IgM examinations and the number of neutrophils which was statistically significant with a p value of 0.009 (p value <0.05). In conclusion, there is a relationship between dengue IgG and IgM examinations with the number of neutrophils. Keywords
