Abstract

The plurality of long established religions with incompatible systems poses a problem for the claim of any one religion to grasp the truth. more specifically, it challenges claims to experiential or "perceptual" knowledge of god in any one religion. i discriminate valid from invalid forms of this challenge and then argue that it can be rational to form beliefs about god as this is done in a particular religion, even where one is unable to show that this religion is in a superior position to get the truth.
