TAFSIR LINGUISTIK: STUDI ATAS KITAB TAFSIR MA’ANIL QUR’AN KARYA AL-FARRA’

Abstract

This study aims to examine the linguistic interpretation contained in the work of Tafsir Ma’anil Qur’an belonging to al-Farra’. Tafsir al-Farra’ is one of the works of linguistic interpretation that is considered important and influential in the development of the science of interpretation. Through a linguistic approach, al-Farra’ tried to understand and interpret the meaning of the Qur’an based on the rules of the Arabic language. This research is a library research and is a qualitative research, the data is obtained from the main book of al-Farra’s work, namely Tafsir Ma’any Qur’an as the primary resource and supported by books, journals and other references that support the study. Furthermore, the data is analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study show that al-Farrq’ uses various linguistic tools in interpreting the Qur’an, including morphological analysis, syntax, semantics, and phonology. Through this linguistic approach, al-Farra’ attempts to reveal the literal, grammatical, and contextual meanings of the Qur’anic text. Tafsir al-Farra’ provides a significant contribution in the development of tafsir science, especially in the linguistic perspective.
