Abstract

The Plio-Pleistocene vertebrate fossil record of the Upper Valdarno Basin (Tuscany, Italy) is well known because of the large mammal collections. Although the small mammals have a documentation that is not even comparable with that of the large mammals; their record from Upper Valdarno Basin is known since early 1800's papers and includes a number of type specimen of species named by early researchers. We present here an overview of the rodents and lagomorphs distribution within the stratigraphic framework of the Upper Valdarno Basin. © Società Geologica Italiana, Roma 2013.
