Abstract
The present contribution addresses the complex interaction between creative and affective responses to the COVID-19 crises in higher educational practices. Looking authoethnographically at my teaching practice, I diffract my reading by means of an Italian novel, the plot of which occurs during an historical epidemic. I end up formulating questions about the relationship between creativity, technology and affects in the post-pandemic university. How universities decide to use the knowledge that they have gained during the COVID-19 disruption of academic life remains to be discovered.
