Abstract
Cymonomus menziesi Garth, 1971 is cited by first time to Chile. The specimens were caught during a survey on board of R/V "Sonne", the material was derived from project on benthic communities in the oxygen minimum zone along the Chilean coast line. The specimens were obtained from one station at 500 m depth off Chiloe. The female specimen of this species is described, and the preliminary aspects about its biology are showed. The presence of this species in southernmost 30 latitudinal degrees from the original report is discussed here.
