Abstract

In this article, the photothermal excitation and thermal conductivity of a semiconducting elastic medium due to variable temperature effect are studied. The dual-phase-lag (DPL) model and Lord-Shulman (LS) theory are used to formulate and discuss the one dimensional governing equations of the problem. The thermal ramp type and traction free at the free surface are applied, in the context of the photogenerated (plasmaelastic) processes. The complete solutions for some physical fields are obtained using the Laplace transform method. Comparisons between the results of thermal memory and variable thermal conductivity are also introduced. The effects of the medium physical fields are illustrated and discussed graphically.
