Abstract
Gajah Park as a green open space and public space in Bandar Lampung has a socio-cultural function such as a communication medium and a recreation place for residents. To support this function, the existing condition of the Gajah Park has several available facilities such as; commercial area, talent training area, children’s playground and others. However, these facilities lack clear territorial boundaries so that the visitors who come to Gajah Park can move from one area to another freely. This condition also causes crowding in some areas and hard to maintain physical distancing, especially in the current Covid-19 pandemic situation. This research aims to evaluate the existing condition of the Gajah Park and to figure out the benefits of border elements as landscape elements to influence behaviour and limit the movement of visitors to maintain physical distancing. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data fields and observations to determine the dimension of the site, behaviour setting, behaviour mapping, and the existing condition of border elements. The result of this study is the recommendation of border element’s design to apply in Gajah Park.
