Abstract

Prune belly syndrome (PBS), which is also known as Eagle-Barrett syndrome, is a rare syndrome classically consisting of a triad of characteristics: absence or deficiency of abdominal wall muscles, bilateral undescended testes in males and urinary tract dilatation. In severe cases, it is fatal soon after birth and in mild forms the child may be born with bilateral undescended testes and mild abdominal wall laxity. The management of these children depends on the severity of the disease and should be tapered to the needs of each individual child.
