Abstract

The article approaches the importance of cultural heritage as an element of cohesion in the communities settled in edge territories. For this three topics are addressed: the definition of heritage. The resignification as a process of recognition of the realities of the communities with their territory and the edge space as a scene of confluence of various socio-territorial conditions. The results show how resignification is an opportunity to reflect on the dynamics that operate in urban edge contexts, such as the case of Usme and its urban-rural particularity. It is concluded that the construction of tools capable of intervening and managing these dynamics present in the edge territories and communities are necessary.
