Abstract

The background is the need to understand the challenges of achieving sufficient blood supply in Africa. The aim is to show that a lot can be achieved with good systems and adequate resources applied.The Materials & Methods is reporting on the blood supply data systems used to analyse and manage blood collection and distribution in SANBS. The results show that with use of data a good system can be developed. The conclusion reflects the need to share information accross Africa.
